I'm trying! Just after a few hours of laying in bed and trying my hardest to fall asleep and getting that terrible jittery anxious feeling, I can't try anymore. It makes me feel like I'm going to scream.
I will try turning off my phone and computer, I'll switch from the tv to music...(need for background noise)
I hope it will help....I can't usually stay in bed for 6 hours because I have a 2 year old who doesn't sleep very well :(
I haven't had trouble falling asleep since I had my baby, but before then I had the worst time. What I used to do is lie in bed and do a sort of meditation exercise. I would start at my feet, and mentally thank them for supporting my weight all day, or looking cute in flip-flops, or whatever. Can be as serious or silly or biological or metaphorical as you want. Then move to your ankles, then calves, etc. I was usually asleep before I hit my shoulders, but, if you hit a rough patch, you can work your way back down and thank smaller parts of your body, or your internal organs, or what have you. Just keep it positive and grateful.
