Where is for you the distinction between a lover and a friend? Where do you draw the line as to what belongs into a friendship and what belongs into a romantic relationship?
lov·er /ˈlʌvər/ Show Spelled[luhv-er] Show IPA noun 1. a person who is in love with another. 2. a person who has a sexual or romantic relationship with another. 3. a person with whom one conducts an extramarital sexual affair. 4. a person who has a strong enjoyment or liking for something, as specified: a lover of music. 5. a person who loves, especially a person who has or shows a warm and general affectionate regard for others: a lover of mankind.
Thus, to qualify as a lover in the personal sense, not in the number four/five sense as someone who loves something, it has to either be someone who is in love with you or someone you're sleeping with.
If there is anything beyond hugging, then they would have to be a "lover". But I don't think that should necessarily be the distinction for other people's relationships.
Added physicality (e.g). Most importantly, displaying affection becomes too much of a mental strain because I feel it too strongly and worry all the time. Me being stressed out about it is a general sign that it's romantic.
sex. and physical/emotional attraction i love my friends but i don't want to sleep with them. and i don't really care what they look like or if we match on an emotional level as much as someone i'm in a romantic relationship with. i love the boyfriend and want to spend all my available time with him and maybe some day move in with him and see where we go from that.

Outside of that, all kinds of emotional junk. Lovers make me twitterpated. Friends just make me cheerful.
