Generally, how does crying make you feel?

Note* I'm not asking why you cry or what feelings precipitate crying, but rather how you end up feeling after crying.

I usually feel like a total loser after I cry.

Yeah, same here. When I cry, it's usually over something stupid, so I always end up feeling ashamed and angry with myself.

Physically? Tired - I always have a major headache, sore eyes and tense muscles.

Emotionally? Run down, lame, worthless.

In pain? I end up with a blinding headache and the skin on my cheeks burns and stings.

Are your tears made of acid?

No, but I have rosacea and crying makes it flare up and the tears irritate it.

I prefer to cry in private. The thought of another soul seeing me cry makes me feel emotionally weak and not in control of myself. I hate it. Although I am a woman, it doesn't mean I enjoy being emotional all the time as some people may assume.

All of this. When I was in grade school and used to cry after being teased, my grandmother and teachers would make me feel like shit for crying. In fact my responses to be bullied got me in more trouble than the people who were bullying me (yay for logic!).

So, to this day, I feel really uncomfortable displaying any emotions other than apathy and anger.
