For those of you who are openly homosexual and your parents accept that and are supportive of you, have you ever felt smothered by them because of that fact

I never got around to telling my parents that I'm bisexual. So I don't really know. Looking back,I reckon my mom would have been exactly like this, that's just how she was.
Lol my husband jokes that,if our son is gay,I'll cry with happiness and throw a party.
My mom said "Well I guess I should have expected this with you going to a women's college". She was nice enough to my girlfriend who visited, I guess, especially after saying that she wouldn't feel the need to be nice to any girl I ever dated. But neither of us mention it anymore, and there's no need since I haven't dated in years. (I did seriously date a guy there for a while and she really liked him and got mad at me for breaking up with him. I told her if she liked him that much, SHE should date him. I think she was mad I broke up with him for the aforementioned girlfriend.)
My parents were very, very sure that I knew they were supportive for a few months, but that's about it; since then they ask if I've met anyone (instead of "met a girl"/"found a girlfriend"), or if they're talking to my brothers and I they'll normally be conscious of the fact that I'm bi. Other than that it's been a non-issue on that end.
(I got a "I'm worried for the state of your soul" a couple times recently, but I have no idea if that was due to The Gay or due to omgheathen!!11, so.)
