My last day of work is 20September. I'm going to see Gaslight + Rise Against that night, and packing etc the next day. :D :D :D

I am SO tired of them. I just do not remember being so annoyed by my colleagues in my previous lab. Partly it's because my boss is so very non-confrontational, and I feel like I am not the authority so I can't enforce rules (which I would like to do) and he won't.

I love them, Tabby. They are like Tom Petty, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, and Dire Straits all wrapped up in a pretty package.

I'm pretty jealous of that combo, Gaslight + RA. I haven't even looked at any of the tours coming to Richmond/Charlotte b/c I know I can't afford to go anytime soon.

You'd think. But he really doesn't like confrontation. At all. And when I confront people, I get blank looks and agreeable nods, and people go on doing what I just told them not to do. Like, someone from another lab was in the dark room and told post-doc W that their film hadn't come out of the processor. So what does W do? She FEEDS 3 FILMS IN. Not, oh, I'll try one and see what happens. Not, okay, I should find Heather and see if she can fix this problem. Just, I'll just put a bunch of films in, because obviously it will work for me. And she does that sort of thing ALL THE TIME. If you're telling her something she doesn't want to hear, she nods and goes on her merry way

I can see that. I didn't listen to anything except 45 before the album was released. Mostly because I got busy and forgot it was streaming, but also because I get a ridiculous pleasure from holding an album in my hands and reading the liner notes before I listen to it.

Wow, wow! I just found that and listened while I was planning my experiment. (OK, really, I had my lab notebook in front of me, but I stopped paying it any mind after the joke about Foxy Shazam.) That is a big change!
