I've been completely immersing myself in the XVIII. International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition that's been streamed online these past couple of weeks. I've never actually seen a piano competition live before, and to have one devoted entirely to the works of my very favorite piano composer is like a dream come true for me. Chopin is also my personal favorite, his nocturnes 1&2 in particular.

Neat story about the stage acceptance too... I recall when I recited Jabberwocky from memory on stage, with dramatic flourishes, the same sort of "cred" occurrence happened with me... hehe!

Nah, my piano teacher gave me the boot when I was 16, and my skills just gradually faded away with the passage of time. I still employ correct piano hand position on my computer keyboard, though, and type with flourish and even a flair when I hit the old Enter button! :D

I called it! Bruce Liu won 1st Prize, and Martín García García won 3rd, with a special prize for best performance of a concerto. So my guys medalled, yay!
