['tis the season for New Feathers, and it might be very easy to mistake this small blonde girl for one as she is wandering around in the shadows of town, trying to figure out the lay of the land ( Read more... )

[If a certain street-kid is hanging out in a particular part of the forest today, she'll probably notice a guy with green hair and three swords walking slowly through it, feet crunching through the dead leaves of the season. He stops by a familiar tree for a moment and then just-sits down beneath it. His head clunks back against the trunk and his eyes close.

Meditation. Startiiiiing...now.]

[Right. Pile of sticks once again firmly situated... she makes her way carefully around his tree to fill up the rest of her load from that log - though she can't carry much more - and make her way back to her campsite.

Does she say anything else to him? No, not a word.

Does he interrupt before she can pick up her load and get away? Be aware, Zoro, that she will still be WATCHING YOU.]

[Oh, he's aware. Very aware-so aware, actually, that his eyebrow starts to tweak a bit at feeling her wary gaze flick to him constantly, as she rummages from the log. ...She's so small, anyway, she won't be able to carry anything that'll last long, not in one trip. Who'd even send a kid out in the middle of the damn woods on a chore like this in November-nobody worth anything-which means she's alone or with some shit-for-brains...

The wary weight of her eyes rests on him again briefly, and he hears the rustling of her gathered sticks against the fabric of her coat.

...He gives up the ghost, blows out a breath, and rests his chin on one hand, looking back at her a bit grouchily.] You're loud. And annoying. And I don't hurt kids. Ever. You need help with that shit, or what?

Who said I was scared of you! [Besides that it's like, common sense.] And I didn't ask for your help, either!

No, you didn't. I offered. [A level look, then he pushes to his feet and dusts off the back of his pants.] And no one said anything about being scared. I said I don't hurt kids. Pay more attention.

[You know what? She frowns at you. She liked you better sitting down, mister. You're too freaking tall like this.]

No. I don't want any favors.

[In fact, she'll just be caaaaaaaaaaasually walking off now.]

[Zoro snorts quietly. Self-sufficient and an Attitude. Endearing.]

Tough. You're getting one. [He then continues to be totally reassuring and harmless by heading back and picking up the whole damn dead log to sling over his shoulder. 8I] Deal with it.

[Aaaaand following. >_>a Leaving a wide distance between them, but definitely following.]

[That is not the way this is supposed to work.]

What do you think you're doing!? Quit following me! I'm not going to owe you anything.

[She will run. Or attack. If it comes down to that. Strange man being nice and following her around - there is no way he could have good intentions.]

[Zoro's mouth pulls a little, down and to the side. Pretty concerned with debt, isn't she.] Yeah, well. I don't need anything from you, so that works out.

[He keeps plodding along at the same loose pace. With her level of tension it's not hard to tell that there could be fight or flight coming up, but, eh. If she spooks, she spooks, nothing much he figures he can do about that except find her later (with his awesome tracking skills, of course) and drop off the damn log. He's committed to that much, at least.]

[WHY ARE YOU SO WEIRD, GREEN HAIRED SWORD GUY?]

I don't need anything from you either!

[His mouth stays pulled down for a moment...then it twitches and very faint amusement and approval briefly touch his eyes. Touché, chibi. Nice show of sticking to your guns.

He acknowledges] Probably not. [...and that's all; he keeps following.]

[She stops walking and turns to glare up at him... a what she would consider to be 'safe' distance away.] Just where are you planning on bringing that thing? Do you need directions or something?

[Because she KNOWS you don't think she's stupid enough to let you follow her to where she's staying like a creeper. Unless you ARE a creeper.]

[Raising an eyebrow back at her, because really?]

It's not for my fire, kid. [And if he was going to do anything to you-you're in the middle of the woods, alone, right now. Why would he need to know where you're staying? 8|a]

[...'cause she could have someone really big and scary waiting for her? ...okay, maybe not. She eyes him suspiciously for a moment. But her gut says 'trust him' and he doesn't FEEL like a shinigami even if it IS obvious that he's dangerous... and the nights get so cold here.]

Fine.

[And she abruptly about-faces. Guess who'd been leading you in the wrong direction all this time? XD?]

[...She was leading him. In the wrong direction. Zoro stops for a moment, staring a bit, and then-he can't help it, honestly, that's just-]
