[Email - Filtered to Corbin] Question

May 23, 2011 00:33

Ash wasn't altogether sure Corbin bothered to look at his journal, so he opted to send the other man an e-mail instead; it would at least assure that Corbin would see it. It was a bit of a delicate matter; he couldn't just post publicly about it anyway. Corbin was the only person he'd worked with in terms of media, so he was the first person Ash ( Read more... )

Corbin only ever checked his email about three times a night as it was, since he usually did speak to most of his clients that way; especially the new ones he had no desire to disclose any actual personal information to.
So spotting an address that he really barely remembered wasn't uncommon, nor was it odd for him to hit the button to open the message to scan the words while he ran through the contents of his inbox. And Ash he did recall, in part because working with him in the past had been one of the more mundane jobs compared to what his clients wanted.

As a rule Corbin didn't end up working with other people often, he didn't much care for it nor was there much use for the idea in his profession; most of his clients preferred to take the secondary role in those jobs rather than involve anyone else.
But it wasn't very often than anyone wanted him to do something specifically technical either. It was worth looking into, since the idea really wasn't complicated.I do my own editing, so yes, sound too. What sort of project? I don't ( ... )

I know a couple doms here in NYC that sell on clips4sale.com, and while I’m not... entirely comfortable with video of myself all over the internet, I’m not opposed to posting .mp3 sessions online for sale. I haven’t decided whether or not I want to sell on a pay site or just on my own website; I’ll have to weigh the pros and cons.

To start, I’m looking for approximately an hour of finished audio, broken up into 5-7 separate themed files. I’m still in the process of writing scripts, so if you’re interested, feel free to pencil me in wherever -- a month and a half from now is just the earliest I’ll be able to do it.

Let me know what your going rate is for editing -- I’m a good actor but I’m not perfect; I know you’ll have to edit out mess-ups and smooth everything together. If you have any ambient stock music suggestions to enhance the sessions, I’d definitely be willing to pay for those, too.

And if they’re a wild success, I’ll be sure to commission you again in the future.

Well, from a personal standpoint I don't sell anything online. But I also don't sell to the public as a whole anyway, the legal issues are a little more demanding and difficult to work around for me compared to what you'd be doing ( ... )

I bet. How do you advertise -- just word of mouth? Or do you have a website, too? If you don’t mind me asking.

Week nights are fine for me. As soon as we pick a specific date, I’ll be sure not to schedule anything else that night.

If it’s not too much of an inconvenience, I wouldn’t mind recording in your studio. I guess I’d rather go just to someone I already know for the whole process than attempt to rent out a sound studio somewhere else, not knowing if the owner would be cool with what I’d be recording. I’m sure I don’t have to remind you about the unfortunate stigma attached to our work.

Stock sounds would be awesome. And if you don't have what I need, I'll bring some of my equipment so I can make the sounds.
