Hey. Sorry for lack of review for 13.06 (and now for 13.07). In all honesty, I don't have a lot positive to say so I figure it's not great to write stuff (though, of course, I can't help myself so here's a little bit of stuff).

I watched last week's, the first one I've watched all the way through this season. It was a big yawn.

I'm not alone!
Yes, this episode was pretty lame, but wasn't Sam beautiful? I don't know what it was (camera angles, lighting, maybe the way they did his hair?) but I'm really looking forward to screencaps of his scenes from this episode. Just exquisite!
There, I found something positive to say! ;)

I know I watched SPN last week, but I don't even remember what it was about. (And I don't save the eps to re-watch on my DVR any more either.) But I know it wasn't as bad as this week's. I am so DONE WITH torture. Also, villains standing around in suits (with silent cohorts behind them) trying to look menacing. Stop it!
I was mildly entertained by Kevin's return, though. Because Alt!Kevin was a somewhat different character than regular!Kevin, and the idea that people would have evolved different personalities in the AU intrigued me a bit. And his character actually served a purpose; it wasn't random. I didn't mind that they found a way to bring Ketch back, or that Lucifer escaped the AU either. I *did* feel that cramming that all in one ep was a bit much... and I'm not optimistic that I'll like where they take those opportunities.
Mainly though, there wasn't enough good Sam and Dean stuff, and I hated the torture. Those were my biggest takeaways.

Ketch as the duplicitous villain might be good since David HJ is pretty good at being smooth and dangerous, and his presence could be interesting when and if Mary returns.

Cas returned in the least specular, and ridiculously smooth way possible. "oh hey, you're back! It must be you because you look like you. Let's go and hunt something".

Agreed! I did enjoy alt!Kevin (I really like Osric's performances) but I was really frustrated by the way he miraculously found a way to create a rip in the time/space fabric (when only Jack could do that earlier). I do rather love the idea of visiting past characters through this alt!universe - I just hope they are token (but I'm totally prepared for that I have to say).
Torture is always hard and bucklemming seem to like writing that stuff. :(
