[ The video feed turns on to a rather nervous-looking girl in her late teens, though that nervousness is momentarily replaced by a grin. After all, she finally figured out how to work this thing properly. Figuring something out is always something worth celebrating, at least for Twilight Sparkle.

Still, her somber expression returns. ] I wanted to ( Read more... )

[video] hello, purple haired pony who sounds vaguely like Rikku XD metaleyedgirl December 8 2011, 22:05:59 UTC
[Slightly confused]

Uh...the sun and clouds and stuff are supposed to move on their own. No one does it.

They are most definitely not supposed to move on their own. Thaaat's really not at all natural. [ Even if that's how it works in the Everfree Forest. ]

Yeah, it is! At least, it is back home, and no one else seems worried. Maybe it's just a thing from your home?

I can see how the Princesses wouldn't be anywhere outside of Equestria, but surely other places have similar ponies.

Everypony?

Why wouldn't the clouds move on their own? Um... hm. The patron gods... maybe they are.

If they're using their magic to move the clouds, and the sun, and the moon... well, I suppose I can accept that. But things don't move unless something makes them move. That is just a basic law of nature.

The moon's orbit and Earth's gravity... it makes the moon move. And the sun moves because we're moving around it...

Um, I don't remember why the clouds move, though.

[ she remembers the first two from her mailed lesson books, at least. ]

everything is better with ponies? studere December 8 2011, 22:30:12 UTC
Oh. Oh! I'm sorry. I suppose I should use the phrase "everyhuman" now, shouldn't I?

ALWAYS. whatoncewashers December 9 2011, 06:39:49 UTC
I think the common term is "everyone." [SO DRY] It's all-encompassing, whether human or... I'm sorry, pony?

You're a pony...?

[ there was someone he was supposed to be looking for, wasn't there? what was the name again... hm... ]

You wouldn't happen to be Sweetie Belle, would you?

Sweetie Belle? Oh, no, I'm Twilight Sparkle.

Sweetie Belle is the little sister of a good friend of mine, though.

Rarity, right? We've met.

She asked me to look for her.

She has every right to be worried about her sister. But I haven't heard from her at all since arriving here.

Hou, you have a strange manner of speech, girl! "Everypony" and "nopony?" It sounds quite unusual to my ears!

[But that aside, he'll be helpful] But the weather, that depends on what you believe. The gods may be in charge of it, certainly, but a young friend of mine insists that it falls in the realm of science. But that's all a matter of belief! There's no one that we know of for certain that puts these things in place, I mean!

Well, that's certainly not true. Back in Equestria, my good friend was part of the weather team, and it was my teacher who made the sun rise every morning.

Now, if we're specifically talking about here, then you're right. That's the entire point I was bringing up, after all. [ Aaaand she gives a self-satisfied nod there. ]

Ha, that's quite the place you come from, then! Where I hail from, there are no people in charge of such things-It's purely myth for that. It would seem the rules of my home apply here more than yours, I'm afraid!

studere December 9 2011, 00:56:28 UTC
But that doesn't make any sense. Why would places operate on such fundamentally different levels?
