Plenty of them.

Why?

plenty?
that's good.
having something to look forward to
something to dedicate one's self to
something to be passionate about--
these are very good things.

as for why i asked
i suppose you could say i am in the process of trying to understand dreams myself.

You don't have any?

i don't know.
i believe i may and simply don't realize it.
but whether it is my dream or a dream someone else has imposed upon me
that is something i must realize for myself.
but even so
having multiple dreams isn't a bad thing.
i could stand to have a few more.

Yes, I do.

And yourself?

what is it?

i do not
or perhaps i do and don't realize it.
it's difficult to tell.

Never to turn a blind eye to evil. To protect the weak from harm. To do whatever is in my power to ensure that justice is done.

That may be so. If there's something you want to accomplish or attain, or devote yourself to, that would be a dream.

[there's a pause as he thinks this over; his previous dream had been quite similar, painfully similar even, and in the end it fell apart right before his feet though the wreckage was caused by his own ignorance among other things.

but still. a dream is a dream, right?]

that's a very noble dream.
but lofty as well.
after all
justice is very subjective
is it not?
what i perceive as righteousness may be the ultimate sin to you
and vice-versa.

is that truly all a dream is?
it sound so simple.
if even humans can dream then it should be nothing for me
and yet
i still feel as though such a thing is outside my grasp as i am now.

[does this person see in black and white? N is hardly concerned; he himself still barely sees in color.]

no, I don't think so.
why are you asking?

that's disappointing.
i can't imagine a human without a dream.

simple curiosity.

[that's bullshit, he's actually soul-searching but like hell he's going to tell that to a stranger.]

moribundity December 15 2011, 04:50:23 UTC
sorry. I never really had one.
why so curious?

isn't it boring not having anything to look forward to?

i wish to broaden my horizons.
nothing more.

[more bullshit, he's actually on the verge of deciding whether he wants to accept or continue fleeing from the reality he has denied until recently but let's not talk about that!!!!! look at this photograph, every time i do it makes me laugh!!!!]

Doesn't everybody?

normally i would say so
but i have recently discovered that such a black and white line of thinking can blind one to the truths of reality.
what if there are indeed people without dreams?
i'd like to understand humans like that too.

If people don't have dreams, they've gotta be really depressed.

why is that so?

[he thought of vehemently disagreeing, but the more he thinks about it, the harder it is for him to come up with an exception to her statement. it's true, isn't it? though he can't say he was happy when he had a goal, it was something, certainly not this-- and he can't even begin to imagine the state ghetsis' life is in.

and then there's his hero, his antithesis, his other half. if anything, N should know about the power of dreams better than anyone else. he should know the meaning of this girl's words with startling clarity. he has his guesses, but...]

many would say that one who is without a dream is one who is without direction
and without direction
one's life is lived aimlessly.
to put it bluntly
you're wasting your life doing nothing.
wouldn't such a thing make you sad?
