Watching (and screencapping) B5 fifth season episodes. I wish I knew if there were some sort of B5 compendium, because I'm getting an irrational urge to look up all sock references.
(For the record, the subject is a Garibaldi quote. "The Paragon of Animals", 3m 3 sec. See "Babylon Squared" for reasons this sends me into fangirl giggles.)

My husband just put B5 on our DVD list (we're doing a Netflix type thing). He's always wanted to see the show, but quickly realized that you had to watch it from the beginning.
So now we will. I guess I should be looking forward to it?

I don't want to get your expectations up, because the first season tends to be kind of campy, and the effects are fairly terrible, but if you can cope with the c. 1993 computer effects, tinny dialog and occasional bout of bad acting, there's some interesting standalone plots, good dialog, and some really cool long-term development.

hmm.. doesn't sound too bad for a scifi tv show! I mean, I like the original Star Trek pretty well! (though never a big fan) :-P
Actually, my husband seems to be intrigued especially in the long term development part, so we'll probably end up watching a lot of B5!
How many seasons are there?

Five. At the dawn of time (1993 or so) Joe Straczynski said, "I have a five year arc" and he got it.
You mean there are people out there who don't know that there are five seasons, that Joe Straczynski is cool like Neil Gaiman, or... or...
(See? This show makes me eternally twelve. Early obsession is hard to shake.)
Why aren't you a big fan of the original ST series?
