Ok--that is one weird-ass plotline.

And yeah, no recollection of moonboots. Perhaps I've just blocked them out subconsciously.

I had moon boots. Gray and white. I wore them when we went camping in the snow.

Moon Boots are in vinyl? I thought they were those puffy ones - of course this was in the 1980s

Of course I also had the Hamil, people thought I was a boy, and I thought Laura Ingalls Wilder was the Bomb (not that I knew what Da Bomb was)

Weekly reader was so cool. They were little newsletters you got in school with cheesy human interest stories or current events dumbed down for kids. The thing I remember most is every year they recycled their story about "Bubble Boy." When we were in our bathroom humor phase, my brother and I used to make a parody version called *ahem* "Poo's Weekly Reader." Comedy gems, I tell you. We even wrote special issue when Bubble Boy died that dealt with how the staff would cope now that they couldn't depend on using that same story again. I gotta find those...

Looking more closely at the meme, I think they confused the Scholastic Book Order flyer with Weekly Reader.

Which remind me of Dynamite!

There were also Weekly Reader Books. I googled them. *dork*

Yeah, at my school they'd periodically give out big order forms for books and posters and stickers and stuff you could get from Weekly Reader Book Club. I had E.T. and Tron posters from them in my room at home for years.
