Emergency Dispatch on the Wizarding Wireless ascendant_npc April 18 2008, 01:33:34 UTC
We interrupt This Cauldron of Love by Celestina Warbeck with this urgent news flash.

Reports are flooding in of the sounds and sights of explosions in the vicity of the Ministry of Magic. Owls are re-routing to deposit mail in a temporary facility, and all floo calls are going unanswered. At this point, we do not know yet what is happening, but our best reporting team is Apparating to the area at this very moment. We will report to you live once they have assessed the situation...

"This is Astrid Fortin reporting to you live from right outside the ground-level entrance to the Ministry of Magic - or at least where it should be. This is just horrid! There's rubble, and fire, and... oh, the humanity of it all! There is no evidence of any warning, and there are far too many Muggles standing about and watching the disaster, looking just as perplexed as we are.

We don't know what happened here yet, but whatever it is, it's the stuff of nightmares..."

She despised the Ministry, she truly did. For her it symbolized everything wrong with the Wizarding community; the protection toward Muggles and the lack of it toward Magical beings. For the most part Astoria had been fully capable and happy to avoid the building. She didn't work there, Daphne didn't work there, and she rarely if ever had to deal with the Ministry in regards to her own work. Despite her own luck, the witch for whom she was working, certainly didn't have the same sort of luxuries. Apparently, as part of her contract as an apprentice, Astoria was suddenly responsible for making sure the woman's business license was kept up to date, which ultimately meant that she was currently standing within the walls of the Ministry, on her way to file the horrendously long form and any other corresponding documents ( ... )

Liam took his time having lunch, he felt guilty on and off for not opening the store today. Right now, he was full and anxious to get home to start painting. He stepped out of the cafe, and it didn't take long for the commotion to get his attention. Thick smoke, the sounds of panic, and fire. It was a few blocks off, and he hurried his steps to get closer to see. As he got closer, the pit in his stomach grew larger. "no...oh no" Liam knew as he pushed through some of the muggles standing and staring, just where they were. The bags of art supplies slipped from his hands, and without thinking he ran for the destruction, pushing past onlookers, hand reaching for his wand. He looked around for someone he knew, for a way to help.

Theodore had spent much of the morning with Nana Margo, reading to her, talking with her; she seemed to be doing so much better and Theodore was a light with the hope that soon she would soon be well again.

He was making a fresh pot of tea when it hit him, wincing as he felt a sensation similar to a huge weight slamming him in the chest, cup shattering on the floor. Some what shakily his fingers traced the small bumps on his pocket watch, swearing under his breath as he read the time. Was his father back?

Leaving the shards where they were he hurried out of the kitchen. "Dad?" he called, "Rudy? Rudy!? Is dad back?!"
