I really can't tell when people say I'm doing okay. If they mean it or they are trying to be nice

Just a quick update for anyone that might care, and myself because it's my journal and I can put in it what a want, the new job is not going so well. As the title suggests I'm not sure if it's because I have zero confidence and a really have got  the hard calls, or if my calls are hard/not positive because I haven't handled them well. If they tell you you're doing O.K. You probably are. It's a business, trust me if you were bad, you'd be told so in no uncertain terms. *laughs*

Is it possible you have an anxiety disorder? I know someone who has one and meds help. I know that in the U.K. you have the what is it, the NHS? If it's that, then couldn't you get help afforably?

If it is that, then help is out there and you don't have to continue life crippled by anxiety.

I don't know if I have an anxiety disorder, but your right we do have the NHS, they aren't know for their speed, and mental health services are probably best described as poor, but they don't cost a penny.

I feel a bit calmer now, enough to eat a proper meal for the first time in a couple of days. I hope I'll continue to feel calm tomorrow at work time.

I think 99% of phone based customer service is being nice, the confidence will come with time. You care, so you're already better than most people.

One tip that I learned in a training class years ago was that a smile can be heard - in other words, if you find yourself getting anxious or stressed by an unpleasant call, just smile! It really does come through in your voice.
