More right-wing insanity from alas's relatives!

For those of you interested in the on-going saga of Alas's attempts to engage with her right-wing Christian family, I offer the following response to this annoying and inaccuate and apparently anonymous video sent to alas by two members of her family.

I don't know if it comes across as officious to them, but I just keep trying. I hate this crap, and they send it to hundreds. I didn't send it to the people they sent it to. I do actually kind of wish they'd just stop sending the stuff, but if they're going to send it, when I have time, I'll respond.

That's a lovely response, btw. But seriously WTF??? When did the Romans introduce housing and welfare reforms? Respublica doesn't mean 'law'! The people never 'demanded bread and circuses'! I can't even figure out whether he's talking about the expulsion of the kings or the Social Wars/civil wars or the transition from 'Republic' to 'Empire' or the decline of the Empire! Rome was certainly not full of self-sufficient farmers who were free from governmental influence THERE WAS A WHOLE SYSTEM OF DAYS ON WHICH YOU WERE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK IN THE FIELD EVEN IF YOU WERE AN OWNER-FARMER (which you probably weren't, you were probably A SLAVE).

In conclusion, ALL THE HISTORY IS SO WRONG IT MAKES MY HEAD BLEED.

So I am extra proud of you for responding rationally.
