Fic: Nine Ladies Dancing; G; RJ/Fran

Nine down, three to go! Now comes the hard part: maneuvering around the holidays!

Ah yes! Happy Winter Solstice!

This one is for Cutebunny! Happy Holidays!

RJ wasn’t like most men Fran had met. Most men wouldn’t have volunteered to watch the Christmas Dance competition like he had when Lily had asked him to go. Theo, Casey, and Dominic had gotten dragged along as well, but they were less enthusiastic about it. So, when RJ had asked Fran to come with him, she jumped at the chance and happily followed even if she would have gone to see Lily dance anyway. It was the fact that he wanted her to go.

And no one was quite as enthusiastic in their cheering as RJ was. Yes, he cheered for Lily and Gabby, but he also cheered for every other contestant. Some of the other people were even turning to look at him, but RJ didn’t seem to care. Fran, on the other hand, was giving a more quiet cheer and blushing a bit.

Still more, when they all returned back to the parlour, she wasn’t surprised to see that RJ had already prepped up a congratulatory pizza and cake, the second part brought by the Masters. She waited until the others were busy before she spoke up to him. “It was nice of you to do this.”

“They deserve it!” He answered cheerfully. “And if we didn’t do anything for them, Christmas would be downer.”

Fran nodded at that and looked back at the others who were happily chatting away. She held out a wrapped gift which RJ took. He smiled and handed her one back. She watched intently as he unwrapped the cook book she’d bought for him which helped him come up with new ideas. After all, if banana worked in a pie, then it should work on a pizza as well.

“Thanks, Fran. You’ll have to try the new pizzas when I make them. I don’t trust anyone else,” he told her and motioned for her to open her gift. She paused and then continued to open it, careful not to damage the beautiful wrapping. She wasn’t surprised to see a book inside, but she was impressed to see the name of the book.

“Matilda?” She asked in amusement and RJ smiled.

“They didn’t realize how special she was either,” he answered, giving her a quick kiss and pointing up at the mistletoe before walking off to congratulate Lily. Fran just looked at the book and smiled.
