Independence Way

My 4-day weekend was packed full of time with friends, fun, sun, and dancing (even if it was less than I could have hoped). It started out with good news from my parents. They're moving up here. Mariner Health, for which my dad is an upper-level executive, was bought out by another company. This is a good thing, in that my dad will stay on for ( Read more... )

My 2 cents, as usual... disney_diva July 6 2004, 15:06:25 UTC
As much as it gets dissed, Frederick County is becoming the new Montgomery county with slightly less elitism and snobbery but not for long. It's close to a number of things... DC, Baltimore, Gettysburg, Antietam, Cumberland, Harper's Ferry... and has it's own rich, historical culture. And, for the moment, you can still get a decent amount of house and land for a semi-decent price (depending on your definition). Of course, it all depends on where they want to be in relation to DC...

Thank you! I will look into it. They were looking out west of DC, like in Loudoun Country where we're moving, or beyond. They want to find a place that is near civilization, but not too horribly expensive. I'm guessing. I have to get more information from them on what they want. :)

Glad that I wasn't alone in the 'the club stunk' way of thinking. Kinda glad it wasn't just me. :)

It just wasn't good for me that night. I wasn't able to throw myself into dancing with the music they were playing. Probably a good thing, all told. I might have been more sore! ;)

To paraphrase Amanda, I forget every 6 months or so that I don't really like clubs. Then again, I don't drink and don't dance, so I should know better.

I did note in my time there that no one was dancing...at all. Not just our little circle...but no one in the *club* really seemed to want to dance. As infrequent a club goer that I am, even I thought that a bit odd.

Hardly anyone was dancing at ALL. I don't know what was up, but it was just a weird night, and weird vibes at the club. Peculiar, indeed.

There's been complaining about the event on the Alchemy lists as well. Bands always depress the dancing, and the fact that no one knew when to arrive so it never really got busy made it worse. It's usually better on your average Thursday.
