Babe, it happens. Please don't beat yourself up. We've all had to drop out of a fest because real life got in the way. Don't despair, and don't give up on the prompt! Some of my favourite pieces are ones which started out as a fest prompt and got posted ages after the event.
I understand how you feel, sometimes life got us in a hurricane and we can't cope with everything. Maybe another writer would like to pick your prompt where you left it?
Don't beat yourself up sweetie. As Forrest Gump says, 'Shit happens'. Fanfic is fun but RL takes precedence. And like Teddy said, there is no reason that you can't post the fic to other archives when you do finish it. That's how my fic 'Strange Bedfellows' was born. It was supposed to be for the first ss/hg promptfest, but I didn't finish it by that hard fast deadline and had to drop out. I felt just like you do now, so much so that I didn't join any fests again for a long time. Please don't let it get you down. You know we love ya. ;)
You're definitely not! These things happen - if one of us haven't dropped out of something yet then we sure will with time. As much as we love it, it's only fanfic! Your sanity matters 100x more. We love you!

Don't be so hard on yourself! Real life always comes first! You can always finish the fic later and everyone will enjoy it just as much. Xx
