I've been a little leery of mentioning this as I hate making promises I subsequently break (and I've made these promises many times before, to then disappoint myself by not following through). (2) Whoa, your parents. I've got another friend with a strangely...non-adult-acting parent, and it just puzzles and saddens me. But what inspires me about you and her both is, your own ongoing commitment towards not being that parent towards your own kids. So go you, and go Gail, and go your awesome kids. Your parents can just go figure out their own crap, or not, as they will.
