It just occurred to me that in combination with Yamato Waki's manga, this means there are probably many girls (and possibly boys, too) sighing over Genji and waiting impatiently for each installment once again.

One thousand years and some things don't change at all. *g*

"One thousand years and some things don't change at all." So true. I'll be waiting for people to post it every week for sure.

As I recall, Genji's best friend and an older brother to his wife, To no Chujo, was another handsome young man. I can just see now there will be many yaoi doujin made of that couple. :D

My last reading of Genji was long ago, but I recall a scene in the novel in which he and To no Chujo are playfully struggling over something, and To no Chujo ends up half-tearing Genji's clothes. I don't know if it'll turn up in the anime or not, but either way I am 99% sure someone will borrow it for a doujinshi. :D Ah, fandom.

Oh, oh, wasn't that the time when Genji kind of inadverdently got involved with one of the older ladies of the court and To no Chujo was going to scare him in the dark, but then the long standing "boyfriend" of the lady shows up and both of them struggle to make a gracefully hasty exit? XD

I plan to check out the first episode. It sure was a beautiful and entertaining manga series that ran from late 70's to early 90's. It took forever to be turned into anime.
