We have a date for "Genji" premiere in Japan.

Just Googled it today and found out that the anime series "Genji" based on the "Tale of Genji" by Murasaki Shikibu will start airing on the 15 of this month. Just looking at the commercial, I can't see any likeness to the Yamato Waki's famous manga adaptation they were originally thinking about basing the anime series on. Wonder if they quickly re-worked it or they just never based the character design on her manga?  (They announced back in Aug. 08 that they were basing it on the manga.  Then the director came out saying he was going to do his own thing by not basing the anime series on the manga in Nov. 08...)

Anyhow, you can watch the 14-second commercial here .

Looks pretty, but then again, you take the Heian period architecture and costume and the fact that Hikaru Kimi was the best-looking man ever, how could it not look pretty?

japan, tale of genji, genji, anime
