Yesterday's Day Out

Apr 30, 2009 13:07

I had an appointment with the ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor yesterday to check on my ear (including cleaning and powdering the inside), discuss my upcoming surgery now set for July 6, the Monday following the Fourth of July (holiday here for those who are not American's), and see the audiologist about my hearing aide. They let me play with the ( Read more... )

we will definitely be covering your july surgery in prayer, k, and i know that something very good will result from it!
the pictures are charming, but it looks as if you step from the last step directly into traffic, eep!

thank you. And YES, the last step is only inches away from traffic on a very busy street!

Lilacs - lovely! Those steps look horribly steep even in the picture, the downside of such a lovely place to live, I guess.

yes, they are terrible. I need a ramp so badly, so I can go up the back instead of having to go down those very steep steps in front, where I have almost fallen TWICE, and once I did trip!

That is way too steep even for somebody with good mobility.
But you have lilacs!

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for the surgery, K. If it helps you regain hearing it'll be worth it.

YES it is too steep! This is why I am in desperate need for a ramp, so I can go up the back in my chair. "my" lilacs actually belong to my neighbor, but they hang over our fence so I love having some fresh cut ones in a vase.

Yes, the surgery will be worth it. It's just so scary, having to be awake. Either way, really! Drilling into my skull!
thank you so much for your prayers!

The scent of lilacs can't be beat that for certain. I haven't smelled them in over 30 years, but I remember what they smell like.

wow, they don't have them there? That's amazing. I actually had quite a history with lilacs. They used to make me throw up or at the very least very nauseous, because I was locked in a room that was surrounded by them (all windows, very very small room) as a small child. Once I remembered that, and dealt with it, I began to actually love the scent. Amazing, really.

They don't survive in Florida because of our heat I think. We have look-a-likes, but not the real deal.

Fingers crossed for a hugely successful operation, K!

I shall severely chastise anyone I catch celebrating its outcome two days early.

You are a card! And must be dealt with. You made me roar with laughter on the second sentence (well, of COURSE not the first one). Thank you for both sentences!

*hugs*
