I distinctly remember revising several scenes of Gallery of Lies a while back.  I know I re-wrote a particular scene that's been on my mind.  I KNOW I did.  I sat on my bed and typed it on my laptop.  I've searched all the files on the laptop, both flashsticks, and the destop.  I must have saved over it because it's gone.  After three days of

That's awful. I know it's no consolation, but think how much better it will be now that you've had even more time for it to stew in your subconscious.

(I did that with a freelance article once. I saved over my backup with the old version. I was so annoyed. I had even turned it in like it was. I had one confused editor on my hands.)
