Yay, baking porn! I might have to make a baking porn recs list!
I want to bake this evening and I have these ingredients! My question: Does it taste chocolatey? It looks so yummy and I don't really care about the color. I was just curious in Jen's journal because there were no pics. But taste is what matters! And texture. I like cake-like brownies too!
I don't know much about sizing photos. I usually do it in my printer's program (HP Image Zone) or I do it at Photobucket. I like it Photobucket because it makes all my baking pics the same size for all my posts. Hope this helps a bit. :-/
Yay! I posted this just for you, since we both had questions on her recipe.
This is more dense than cake-y (which I define as spongy). It is very surprisingly chocolate-y at first bite despite the fact I don't really find white chocolate to taste like chocolate. (Unbaked, I swear it tastes like sweeten condensed milk.) I guess the chocolate chips gives the chocolate taste, and the white chocolate just pumps it up. A wee problem I find is that the aftertaste is sweet, a sugary sweetness, not chocolate-goodness. I wonder if some salt is needed (maybe a 1/4 teaspoon?) or using bittersweet chocolate chips rather than a semi-sweet? Also, I used less than a cup of chocolate chips, so for sure more will make it even more chocolate-y!
I'm using photobucket too - and this is the size that came out, which is okay for the ingredients, but I wanted to close up the last two pics to show the texture.
PS, I plan to read "Blessed Be" - maybe this weekend when I have more time!
Ah, the quest for more chocolate! Yes, I don't generally like white chocolate chips. I do have semi-sweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips (which are way, way too sweet in cookies for me). Bittersweet is an interesting choice. I do have lots of baker's chocolate but that's not very sweet at all. Hmm.
When in Photobucket, there is an option as you upload called "More options". There you can chose small, medium, larger (and bigger) for your pictures. Now it will make all the pics the size you choose for ever afterward, but you can always change the options whenever you want. Thanks for posting for me, btw. It's odd but it's fun to think that we can share recipes and eat similar foods even across the world! Chocolate brings the world together! Hee!

Thanks for the advice! I'm might try it ('more options') tomorrow.

I know! I had baked three pumpkin pies last week (one with marshmallow topping, one without, and a shallow french-tart to finish off the rest of the pumpkin custard) BUT I forgot to take pictures! :( Alas, none of them lasted over the weekend. I really need to keep a camera in the kitchen. I'm really want to see how yours comes out!
To get it whiter... You need to prevent browning of the crust. I believe you can do that by baking it covered (aluminum foil works - I think it'll be more effective if you put it on shiny side up. I think.
As for making the pictures bigger... Check the html version of your post, and look for an "img" tag. Chances are, the height and width are being set in there. You should be able to change it.
THANKS! for the recipe, and the suggestion. I checked the html... I only saw a weblink. But I remember the prompt asked for W and H, and I left it blank since I didn't know what in what measurements it wanted.
I did change it!! I plugged some random numbers at the prompt to figure out some sizes, but it worked. Unfortunately blowing it up made it all blurry. :( Obviously I need to take better pictures or upload it at a higher-res. But I'm learning.
You should show pictures of the pomegranate drink. It sounds really healthy and a good counterpart to this sweetness.
