While it is certainly true that most of us (myself all-too-frequently-included, despite my best intentions)end up with a rapidly changing focus, I truly believe it is possible to incorporate the idea of "present only" in today's society. In fact, I am willing to go so far as to state that, at times, we may even find it easier to focus on the here, the now, as opposed to the "then" or the "will be". In a way, a type of "now-only" focus is, at least for the sake of "surface living", a nearly default state that may lack sufficient perspective to allow a person to experience now as opposed to be carried along by its effects.
