You're not as bad as you think you are, Fayt. People follow you, they see something in you. You got me to work in a group and that's no small feat.

I want to help again, so much. But I don't know what else I can do. I just know there's got to be a way to fix this. This can't be the undoing of everything we've worked for. I won't let it.

Selphie. I've always meant to explain why I reassigned you.

You're a strong woman. We've sparred before, remember? I'd thought that putting you in communications was a waste of talent and ability, and I saw you as the type who didn't object too much to not being in command. You're also very caring, and a good friend; by putting you in the assault team, I believed that you'd be able to accomplish more, as a warrior and as a person, because you could protect the ones you loved. And, I admit, I had to keep you close to Nocturne, or he'd kill me. He was a wreck when you... well, you know.

It wasn't because you'd failed. You haven't failed us, Selphie.

Yes, he was.

I reassigned Sheifa for the same reason; Albel thought it would be too dangerous for her to be in the front lines. And I had to put Maria in charge of a unit, because she was being counterproductive not being in a leadership role.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. That's another reason why I shouldn't be giving the orders anymore; making decisions that don't involve runological weapons or combat isn't my cup of tea.
