SCREENED TO THE ALLIANCE AND OTHER ALLIES ► unhackable.
I have long been considering this, and the recent events have only strengthened my resolve.
I am stepping down from my post as coordinator.
The position wasn't even mine to begin with. Three months ago, when the Keepers arrived and we'd been freed from the cuffs, Jing and I decided to meet to come up with a plan. We had our friends and those we knew who could help join the meeting, and we agreed to organize. We represented "groups" within the compound, and we thought that if we combined our efforts, we might get things done better and faster. So we delegated certain tasks and formed some teams; communications, weapons development, as well as a couple of fighting/assault units. Skuld and I were assigned to weapons development. We also decided to elect a leader, who we called coordinator, because his duty was to coordinate the different teams that comprised our alliance. Jing was elected, and he appointed me as his second-in-command.
Our second big meeting was around two months later. By then we'd come to refer to ourselves as the "alliance" for convenience. We had grown in number, but at the same time, threats within the compound were increasing, and so were the disappearances. It was also around that time when a certain incident led to my assumption of the coordinator post. The settlement of the matter has been delayed repeatedly due to more pressing issues, so eventually I appointed Quatre as my second-in-command. I've had my hands full ever since, and, with Skuld still recovering, our weapons development team has been on hiatus as of late.
That, as well as the strain of the recent events, is why I'm stepping down. I've said it before: I'm a researcher first, a soldier second. Politics and leadership is beyond me. I can't handle all this pressure, this tension, and I'm being counterproductive as the days pass. Call me a coward, or accuse me of running away; that's fine, because to an extent those are both true. I did what I could when the circumstances called for it, but I know that I'll do much better elsewhere, and I also know that there are more qualified people in the Alliance to take up this post.
Quatre, being my second-in-command, is therefore to succeed me as coordinator. However, I wish to remind the body that Jing's case has yet to be decided upon. This is my last request as coordinator; please take your time to see to this. Thank you.

Now that that's over and done with, perhaps we could finally meet and discuss our weapon plans?
