This hurts in a beautiful way. I love best how Ray isn't perfect. He makes assumptions and says the wrong things -- but he's observant and he so clearly cares, so he knows how to correct himself and steer things back around. The whole premise could have veered easily into soppy!Ray, timid!Fraser, omg!angst, but instead the story travels a careful, heartfelt, and creative path, even incorporating some humor along the way. Wonderful!

wow, thank you most kindly, both for the lovely comment and the pointer. you definitely nailed what I was feeling as I wrote the story. I remember thinking how careful I had to be not to slide down that slippery slope. it would have been far too easy.
