- One other low point about Fiesta I forgot to mention was how those "bear's Life" magazine folk were wandering around, taking pictures and whatnot. such is well and fine, and I was impressed by the complimentary issue they included in the run packet. But I was severely insulted by the notice they posted on the run bulleton boards (a great idea, ( Read more... )

'cause if there is one utility I can't find for love or money on a mac, it's a reliable disk sector checker for HFS.

That would be Drive Genius. The "Scan" feature does a full block scan that ought to detect any hardware failure. There's also an "Integrity Test" feature that really thrashes the drive -- but I find that to be overkill.

But really, on an iPod? I wouldn't bother unless it gives you trouble again. Sounds like it was a software problem all along.

Mind... arkanjil January 19 2007, 18:33:48 UTC
this was an iPod that i was using to run my iPhoto library around on, so it's integrity is kinda important to me. The whole reason why I plunked down for another iPod the day before this one failed was for the supposed reliability, so when this one went down, I found it to be a trifle.. unnerving.

The link's good to have, tho damn, what's up with the price? Something you use only once in a great while (hopefully) really shouldn't punch holes in your walet like that.

I don't read people who cut me. If you're not taking the time to read me, why should I reciprocate? :)

sometimes, it's not about reciprocation, but about cool links they post, or geeky insights or such like.

I find your lj interesting, but hard for me to relate to, and harder for me to contribute to, aside from patting you on the back occasionally and saying 'hang in there.' It's like, you'd be nice to know I think, if you weren't so far away...

Heh. Some of the journals I'm dropping 'cause they pull me in too much, and I cna do too little in return. Maybe someday, je?
