Three weeks on at my new place of employ, and I've not gone running for the exits yet- it's been very insightful & leaning within it's own rights, as I've learned that a) Dell is in no serious way a competitor against Apple (or vice versa, I suspect), and b) Dell is a fairly nifty company in it's own right, which was nice to confirm. We got an offer on the house. The banks are hedging. We may well be moving very soon. With considerable regret, we fired the nanny- or maybe laid off is a better term. It's the first time he's been through either condition, he says.
