No radio for the best part of a year, no TV reception since August, and my laptop chooses THIS Election Day to die/overheat/fail-reboot during a virus removal :). ( If I ever shoot hubby, it will be for his habit of turning fans off on EVERY computer whether they belong to him or not. Ditto ZoneAlarm )

Oh, I'm sure that has something to do with it at some level - see also the rise in allergy/intolerance (even filtering out the snake oil vendors, it's noticeable). Given the sheer amount of involuntary chemical exposure (for want of a better term) in the average child's life, it's got to be doing *something* :( (Preservative 202, anyone ( ... )

On asthma: I think the Australian child asthma rate is now around 16% - adults are running at around 10-12%. It's (one of?) the most common reasons kids here are hospitalised :( Okay, it's a dusty wheaty country, but... (!)

On chem: *nods* I've seen more than a few kids change remarkably once their parents stop defining "lunch" as crisps and RollUps start thinking about diet. Sue Dengate and her "Failsafe" programme are absolutely FTW, as far as I'm concerned ( ... )
