So... ;)

No radio for the best part of a year, no TV reception since August, and my laptop chooses THIS Election Day to die/overheat/fail-reboot during a virus removal :). If I ever shoot hubby, it will be for his habit of turning fans off on EVERY computer whether they belong to him or not. Ditto ZoneAlarm >(

Fixed now - fingers crossed; seemingly permanent remnants of old Fake.Alert infection *finally* bloody gone (no nasty files, but that goddamn .scr call was driving me bonkers); intertwined as it was with a bloody rootkit and the intriguingly named Trojan.Peed. Hmmm.

Good old Y Chromosome.

Otherwise: bit flat this week, physically, mentally, emotionally; feels like a bit of a spiral-starter, so fighting it with rest and Spore and (hopefully, if I've time) a new Bill James. Forgot to order Frank Traynor CDs for Dad's birthday tomorrow :( JBHifi in town better have something good.

Plus side: all three possibly developmentally problematic foster-kids previously mentioned got (somehow) fast-tracked for assessment, and went in this week. YAY :) made up for 2yo deciding that biting is part of a normal cuddle (my shoulder is *blue* :). His room leader made me write out an incident report - normal procedure, but damn it feels bad doing that when we all KNOW he doesn't mean anything by it :(

Having some success with him on the sustained-interaction level - his vocab is basically "bababa" (Black Sheep? sung to him by his 3yo sister as she kept him alive) and "ish", which I'm treating as a combination of "what is" and "this is". Ish? Ish swing, Ish? ish [sibling], Ish? ish [his] boot... etc. *Conversation*, Watson :) and a possible (spectrum? neglect syndrome?) diagnosis - and early intervention - on way. YES.

Also: Mr ODD/ADHD responding to behavioural management plan :) slow, but visible.

Also: fixed PSR PC (kids pulled CD tray out; idiot colleague shoved it back in with brute force... gAAAHHHHH); wreaked my rewengie by endowing selected preschoolers with spray bottles of thick, bright, goobie paint. MUAHAHAHAHAHA

(hubby impatient with my strange desire to fix laptop rather than cook). Soften garlic, onion in oil; add chopped haloumi and Hungarian salami, snake beans, garam masala, cayenne, dried pear. Fry lightly, serve with rice and chopped coriander. Mmm.
