I needed to get out of here. I felt like such an idiot. I poured my heart out and let the woman I love know how I felt. I let her read my most private and innermost thoughts and it was all for nothing. I threw on some baggy pants and my cap. I needed to dance. I found the phone book and looked up ‘Gay clubs’. There was one not far from the hospital. I jotted the address down and called a cab. I texted Ari, to let her know that I won’t be able to meet her later, maybe tomorrow. I needed to find out for once and for all how a woman made me feel. My phone rang as the cab pulled up outside the club. I looked at the caller id and saw it was Arizona. I turned it off as I stepped into the club. It was rather quiet, only a few people there. I figured it was because it was only 3 pm. I ordered a drink from the bar then made my way over to the dj.
“Hey,” I smiled at the woman. She was quite attractive. Not as attractive as Ari, but still attractive.
“Hi,” she smiled back.
“So can I put in a request?” I asked. She nodded so I asked for my favourite Flo Rida song. She smiled and found the song I was after. When she put it on, I handed her my beer so I could bust my moves and let some steam off. She kept the hip hop sounds coming until I felt a little better.
“Wow, you got some cool moves girl. My name’s Skye,” the girl introduced herself.
“I’m Mickey, thanks for that, I needed it.”
“No problems. You should totally check out ‘Rave’. I dj there on Sat nights and there’s heaps of people there who dance like you. It’s not a gay club though,” she smiled.
“Awesome, sounds really good. Hey, can I get you a drink?” I asked beaming.
“Thanks, a beer,” she blushed.
A few hours later I was dancing with Skye. Her shift finished half an hour earlier and now we were dancing and drinking.
“So what do you say we get out of here?” I whispered in her ear. I was so turned on and couldn’t keep my hands off the gorgeous blonde.
“I say, your place or mine?”
“Mine,” I whispered as we left the club and hailed a cab. I gave the cabbie my address. In the back of the cab, I was making out with Skye. Her lips were so soft and gentle. Much nicer than any guys I had kissed. There was teasing and gentle nips that made my insides melt. When the cab pulled up at my place, I handed some money over and pulled Skye out of the cab. We barely made it to the elevator. Once the doors closed and I pressed the button for my floor, Skye pushed me up against the wall and thrust a leg in between mine. I moaned, wanting more contact. Once the doors opened, I pushed her down the hall to the front door. I fumbled for the key while she was sucking on my neck. Once the door was open, we stumbled in.
“Mickey, is that you?” Callie called out from the lounge room. I pushed Skye into my room before calling out.
“Yeah, I’m home, going to bed, don’t disturb, goodnight,” I called out as she came into the hall.
“Arizona is worried about you, you’re not answering her calls,” Callie said before I could disappear into my room.
“I’ll call her tomorrow, I’m kinda, busy,” I hinted. Callie just looked confused, but my pleading look gave her the hint I didn’t want to talk about it.
The next morning I awoke to Skye laying in my arms naked still. I smiled, remembering how great I felt the night before. Yep, I definitely am gay, I thought to myself. There was a knock on my door and Skye woke up. I smiled at her and covered our bodies up with the sheet.
“Come in,” I called out.
“Coffees,” Callie said walking in.
“Thanks. Um, Cal, this is Skye. Skye this is my sister’s girlfriend Callie,” I introduced blushing slightly as Callie handed the coffees over.
“Hi Skye,” Callie smiled.
“Hi,” Skye blushed.
“So um, I thought I’d let you know that Ari is here. She’s very worried about you Mickey, you really should talk to her,” Callie said.
“Um, I might just have a shower, if that’s ok?” Skye said, feeling a little out of place.
“Sure, just through there, the towels are under the sink,” I pointed to the ensuite.
“Um,” she said looking at Callie.
“Right, I’ll turn around,” Callie smiled, placing my robe on the bed. Skye put the robe on and went into the bathroom.
“She made it clear she didn’t want me Cal, so I went out to find someone who did,” I shrugged when she gave me ‘the’ look.
“Mickey, I really think you and her need to talk about this.”
“Cal, there’s nothing more to talk about. We’re best friends, that’s it, she made that very clear. I’m going to have a shower then we’ll be out ok,” I pulled the sheet around me and headed into the bathroom.
“Morning, oh, hello,” Erica said as Skye and I walked into the kitchen.
“Erica this is Skye, Skye this is my sister Erica. And that’s Arizona, my best friend,” I pointed as Arizona came into the kitchen, “Ari this is Skye.”
“Oh, uh, hello,” Arizona mumbled, taken aback slightly.
“Hi,” Skye said awkwardly.
“Um, I’m going to go,” Arizona turned to Callie. Callie just gave me a dirty look and walked her out. Part of me felt guilty but I just reminded myself that this was Ari’s choice. Erica gave me a dirty look too but I just glared right back at her.
“So, Skye, what do you do for a living?” Erica turned to my new friend.
“Um, I dj at clubs. I also do bar work and I have a dog walking business,” Skye answered.
“Nice, you must meet quite a few people working at clubs,” Erica said as Callie came back.
“Mickey, I love you to bits, but you’re such a bitch,” Callie spat at me as she headed to the coffee machine.
“Hey,” Erica said to her girlfriend.
“Leave it Erica,” Callie warned.
“Erica, it’s fine,” I said to my sister. Skye just looked between us in shock. I smiled at her reassuringly.
Skye and I had been dating for a few months, but Arizona and I had barely seen each other. I missed her so much and was very jealous when Callie told me that she had started seeing her ex again.
“Mickey, are you and Skye coming to this dinner tonight or not?”
“Yes Erica, how many times do I have to tell you?” I smiled as I talked to my sister on the phone.
“Well you’re never here anymore so I wasn’t sure,” Erica whined.
“Is this your way of saying you miss me? You see me at work all the time,” I laughed.
“The coffee machine has forgotten how to make coffee because it’s not getting a work out anymore,” I could tell she was pouting.
“Aw, but Skye’s machine is so much quicker,” I said.
“Fine, I miss you. You’re never around anymore,” she whined.
“That’s because you and Callie are always having sex in the lounge room,” I cringed remembering the day Skye and I walked in on them.
“That was a one off, come on!”
“We’ll be there Erica, I promise.”
