Lose myself in a chemical moment

"Just remember, life is a box of cookies [...] You know, they've got these cookie assortments, and you like some but you don't like others? And you eat all the ones you like, and the only ones left are the ones you don't like as much? I always think about that when something painful comes up. 'Now I just have to polish these off, and ( Read more... )

Sadly, I've only read Norweigan Wood and Kafka on the Shore so far. Which really is a shame Q_Q
But I've got that really nice 50€ coupon for my local bookstore looking at me and telling "I'm your way to the next few Murakami novels, you know you wanna!"
what's the name of his newest book? o:

you should definitely read after dark! this was the first book i read and it's not too long, but very interesting! oh and i love the descriptions of tokyo's nightlife there XD
i also like south of the border and an illustrated short-story (in germany it's called sleep).

his new book is called 1Q84 (XDDD), and i really REALLY need to read it, no matter what XO

Yeah, it reminds me a lot of the way I see life :D
You should make sure to have read something by Murakami at least once. His novels have lots of philosophical stuff in there which one should think about, And the plotlines are really interesting :D

Which one would you recommend for starters? :D I always want to begin reading something, but am afraid to pick something boring and give up at the very beginning XD

I don't really know since I have only read 3.4 novels written by Murakami.
It depends on what you like to read. Norwegian Wood and Sputnik Sweetheart focus rather on emotions and have a very light plot but very beautiful quotes and thinks to think about in them.
Kafka on the shore and Hard-boilt Wonderland and The End of the World focus much more on plot. I like to read them because you're sucked into a really interesting universe.

so if you're scared of getting bored, I would rather recommend Kafka or Hard-boilt Wonderland, though I can't really talk about the second since I'm not even halfway through :/
