"Just remember, life is a box of cookies [...] You know, they've got these cookie assortments, and you like some but you don't like others? And you eat all the ones you like, and the only ones left are the ones you don't like as much? I always think about that when something painful comes up. Yeah, it reminds me a lot of the way I see life :D
You should make sure to have read something by Murakami at least once. His novels have lots of philosophical stuff in there which one should think about, And the plotlines are really interesting :D

Which one would you recommend for starters? :D I always want to begin reading something, but am afraid to pick something boring and give up at the very beginning XD

I don't really know since I have only read 3.4 novels written by Murakami.
It depends on what you like to read. Norwegian Wood and Sputnik Sweetheart focus rather on emotions and have a very light plot but very beautiful quotes and thinks to think about in them.
Kafka on the shore and Hard-boilt Wonderland and The End of the World focus much more on plot. I like to read them because you're sucked into a really interesting universe.

so if you're scared of getting bored, I would rather recommend Kafka or Hard-boilt Wonderland, though I can't really talk about the second since I'm not even halfway through :/

I've just watched Norwegian Wood the movie, and I think I don't like it, which is sad because now I don't want to read the book :(
Well then, I'll start with Kafka! High time to start reading somethng serious instead of random fantasy novels XDDD
Thank you!! :D
