I made butter for Imbolc!

I'm going to c/p the whole recipe below, as well as link to it. This was easier than we'd expected it to be, actually. We had the little half-pint of Lochmead heavy whipping cream [Lochmead milk is SOOOO good!] and I added a little bit of salt. It was. Smaller amounts go a lot faster, which is probably what we'll do from now on. I need to separate out the buttermilk from the butter today.

If you don't have kids willing to shake a jar, you can dump the whipping cream and salt in the mixer bowl and start on low and work your way to high with the electric mixer and ta-da, butter! Great way to use up fresh herbs from the garden too!

Yeah, my nephew's grandmother mentioned that yesterday when I was telling her about our plans. And considering how quick it was to shake up the butter, I think I'd do this myself anyway. It was a lot of fun!

We all had a little taste on Thursday night after the butter was made, but now can't touch it until after sundown on Tuesday, as we're doing a 5 night/4 day vegan experiment. But I don't think it'll be a problem. We're going to make some fresh bread on Tuesday to eat the butter with.
