I will never cross-post anything. And have so much hate for the new system it's not even funny.

I better post a warning on my own journal. May I borrow this paragraph and credit it to you?

"If I find out that ANYONE is reposting things from my journal to their Facebook or Twitter, even if it's their own comments, YOU ARE UNCONDITIONALLY AND WHOLLY BANNED FROM MY JOURNALS AND ANY COMMUNITIES I CREATED AND MAINTAIN. There will be no second chances on this. My journals and my Facebook do not mix. Yes, there are ways that people could figure out connections between my journals and my FB, but that is not public consumption for just anyone to have. Fuck that shit."

Take it. Use it. Credit it. Spread it around, baby!

I am SO pissed about this shit, it's not even funny...

I don't even have the words for how much I hate it. For aesthetic reasons - the way it clutters up the comment box. For privacy reasons. For 'GTFO of my space, Livejournal.' Just, christ, it's awful.

Good to see just about eeeeeeeveryone on that news comment thread can't staaaaand it.

*nods* No kidding! I have someone else who is actually testing out just how far into the privacy issues this goes re: locked posts & screened comments. I will keep people updated as I find out info from them...

When I saw the News I looked at the calendar and thought 'it isn't april fools, is it?'.

I HATE the concept. I HATE the little buttons down there below the comment box. I HATE that someone else can post comments on their fb and potentially have my LJ username included.

My fb has real life people on it, like, uh family. People I don't necessarily WANT to know about my LJ. I don't see how they can let other people decide on someone else's privacy settings. Argh. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole thing, but the concept doesn't sit right with me.

No, I don't think you're misunderstanding what they're doing at all. Thankfully, just about all of the people commenting on that news post HATE the idea, so maybe it'll get changed... Or at least have an opt-out option...

It's so damned ridiculous! And pretty much everybody on the whole news post [as of last night] is against this idea...

I've taken (modified) your announcment to post as a warning in my own journal. It'll remain at the top of my journal until this crap is fixed. Thanks for sharing this with us. THis fuckery MUST. BE. STOPPED.

*nods* I know a lot of people from LJ on FB and try my damnedest not to cross-comment because of that whole real name vs. pseudonym thing.

With a very few exceptions, I'm fully backed up/crossposted with LJ/DW since I got my DW and all of my current posts since then originate in DW anyway [with those few exceptions taht really are LJ-specific, like posting a femslash_today post in my lj instead of the comm & then putting in a "UR a dumbass" comment in its place]...
