Louie has been doing a modified version of the "old" weight watchers that I managed to piece together online for free. By modified, I mean it's not directly through weight watchers, and there's no meetings or anything. It's up to him to do his own weigh ins, and there's no meetings or journal (he's not a journal writing person). He chooses foods based on a principle much like not overdrawing his bank account, and he doesn't use the extra weekly points - his choice. He has lost 30 pounds (as of yesterday) in two months

Wow, thanks! I've been curious about Weight Watchers for a long time. The problem has always been that I'm living hand to mouth as I pretty much have all my life (har, har). I can't afford gym memberships or weight loss clubs... but you've done all the work on this one!
I've been sort of piecing together my own program with the help of andriod apps on my phone, but I'm sure these resources will be a boon!
I'm glad to be able to offer it to you to help you feel better about yourself. I know weight watchers is a business and they're out there to make money but it's elitist in a way to expect people to pay that much, plus pay for a means of exercise on top of it. Some of us just don't have it to spend, but that doesn't mean we should sit around dying from being overweight either.
He doesn't really have the time to go out and exercise at a gym or whatnot because of work but once the weather breaks and we can go on walks around town, I think he'll lose weight even faster.
It's a very personal choice and hard to do if your family won't cooperate, but giving up meat for the most part helped him a lot and made it a lot easier to stick to his points too. That's just a thought.
I don't think we could ever give up meat entirely... we love it a lot. But I personally have given up red meat for nearly a year (when I was 18 or so) and we have cut back considerably
