Unbirthday: Pencilbirds
While Alice wasn't entirely surprised to see a...pencilbird sneak up off her tiny child's desk (gotten rid of years ago)...

Just a small excerpt for today. The pencilbirds are also a Disney exclusive to Wonderland.
My last post was about Adina the mirror bird.
I don't think any of the other Wonderland creatures were given headcanon names.
It's interesting, the creatures that Walt Disney brought to Carroll. Objects fused with ordinary animals to create wonderland creatures. Like the mirror bird, the hammer birds, the pencil birds, the bird cage birds, the accordion owl, the timpani frogs. Carroll has lots of imaginary creatures, like unicorns and gryphons, and mock turtles, and slithy toves.... But combining ordinary objects (like hammers, pencils, musical instruments) with wild animals (birds, frogs, etc.) is something Walt brought into Carroll's world. :)
I'm tired, so I'm going to go and take a nap. Have a great Tuesday!
