Try to look at the back of your throat. If there are white spots on your throat, you definitely have strep, and need to get antibiotics pronto. (I have had strep many many times, and my mom used to run the hospital lab where they did the tests.)

Yep, that's what I always do. Scared the crap out of myself once by peering back there right after eating a bowl of oatmeal though. :) My glands are swollen to the size of oranges, but no white spots (yet)...
