MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Unfortunately, for the first time since he was born, my brother will NOT be around today...he has to work.  He worked last night, and will be working today, New Year's Eve, and New Year's day (in addition to various other days during the week).  This just goes to show you - if you do your job right, they punish you by scheduling ( Read more... )

We here had a grand day. What kind of work does your brother do?

I was going to ask you what you did...but then I saw your post. Sounds like you had fun. And seasons 1-3 of "Primeval"? Totally awesome. I've been rambling all about it to my father the past couple days...thank God he's used to my obsessive fangirlness. I haven't decided if I'm going to download all the eps on iTunes or buy the DVDs.

We had a pretty nice day...it just wasn't "Christmas," you know? I started "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" during some down time, but I accidentally left it behind (it started sleeting, so I came back to my apartment a little early). I suppose it's not a big deal, since I'm just going back tomorrow, but I really wanted to read more tonight. That pretty much leaves either writing or beginning season 2 of "Primeval"...decisions, decisions...

My brother is a waiter in a comedy club in New York City. Apparently, they never close. I could never be a waitress, I don't have the patience. I would probably tell off half my customers ( ... )

Not being with my family would make the holiday feel strange so I understand how you feel.

Hmmm, well here is the list of the books I got and wanted.

"I am Ozzy" bio of Ozzy Osbourne
"Under the Dome" by Stephen King
Lord of the Rings 3 book box set, leather.
"The Lost Symbol "Dan Brown"
and I got a book on D-Day, I love reading about WW2

I'll state reading I am Ozzy first.

That's a pretty sweet list you've got there.

I'm especially impressed with the LOTR box set - I love collector's editions and such. I'm sad to say that I've never actually read LOTR (I know, I know...bad, Ariadne!), but once I enjoy a story in one medium (book/movie/play), I tend to hate all other versions. So the movie version wins. For example - I've actually read several excerpts about Eowyn (who is my GIRL in the movies), and I don't particularly like "book" Eowyn. To me, she is far too "I wanna marry a rich, powerful, handsome man, or die." In the movie, I felt like her feelings for Aragorn were based on more than just his status as the King of Men...and when she rides to battle, she does not actively seek death...she wants to contribute, fight alongside kith and kin. She is a Shieldmaiden, she has been trained to fight - she's tired of sitting on the sidelines. I would've done the same thing ( ... )
