Acceptable writing prompts

Have you ever wished I would write a specific Grey's story or MerDer scene that you've always wanted to see? Well, listen up, because your opportunity to have my creative efforts 100% at you disposal is coming up soon. I'll be giving you all several opportunities (two currently planned) to submit writer prompts to me. I'll explain the details regarding the first of these opportunities tonight, but I'll go over some ground rules now.

First, what is a prompt? A prompt is basically a story request. It's not a blow-by-blow of what should happen, but it can include elements of what you'd like to see. For instance, the prompt for Life In Detail may have looked like this: Derek and Meredith get to know each other after the episode where he shows her his trailer. Derek's favorite glow-in-the-dark condoms make an appearance.

That being said, to avoid getting myself stuck with a prompt I just can't write, I'm going to lay some ground rules.

Your prompt must fit either with current show canon, or canon established by one of my fics written prior to AATW, and must concern any of the following central themes:

Romantic: Meredith/Derek, Sarah/Stewart
Character: Meredith, Derek, Stewart

Character-centric fics may of course include any of the Grey's universe characters, like platonic Meredith/Cristina or Meredith/Alex or Derek/Mark etc, or something crazy like a Cristina/Derek scene you've always wanted to see. Obviously, since Derek-centric is allowed, allusions to or definitive Addek are both a possibility, but I don't want to focus on the pairing itself. For instance, the story can be about Derek while he's with Addison, but I don't want to write porn for them. Same goes for Meredith and George. Make sense?

Absolutely NO AUs, and prompts must be suitable for a short story. Future prompts based on speculation from current canon are acceptable, as are in-between scenes, scene extensions, and anything else you can think of that doesn't alter Shonda's gospel (or mine if you decide you want an epilogue to LST or something). You all know what I like to write -- any of that, really, is fair game.

If you have any questions about what's okay and what's not, feel free to ask.
