Amusing comment from a republican congressional aide
I'm actually rather concerned about the state of the Republican party. I may not vote for them, but I do think their voice is important and valid in public discourse. We are a representative republic, after all. It seems when politics gets heated, a lot of interesting corners of English turns of phrase are explored. Today I encountered 'circular firing squad' in reference to the various top republicans who have now turned to pointing fingers at eachother. Though I often gripe about one failure or another of English, one of its most irritating features, its idioms and slang, is also a blessing in the expressivity category. Voter expectations
I, like everyone else, am often frustrated by how political candidates answer questions posed to them. Whether it be in debates or on the campaign trail, they always dodge a hard answer or dodge the question altogether (or in a new form of politics, tell you outright they aren't going to answer. Our move back to the tundra
So with the trip back to WI pending, I've decided to journal the trip. I will at least post text every day from now until we get settled in a new apartment. I may also put up pictures and video.
