That version of Fly Me to the Moon was always my favorite too! And it reminds me that I haven't watched my Evangelion tapes in forever.
My music collection is still way too pitiful to participate in this meme, but actually your number one six degrees of bandom can be solved with less connections, since Panic covered Radiohead's Karma Police :)
Evangelion! I watched it religiously every Thursday night (right after Escaflowne!) :D
I know! I figured that out right away, but I didn't want to use Panic as a connection to Bandom twice, so I had to figure out how to link the Beatles to another Bandom band. Actually, I could have linked Bob Dylan to either a)Tom Petty (because the covered "House of the Rising Sun" together) and then Tom Petty to Jon&Eric or b) The Band (who covered Dylan's "Blind Willie Mctell") and then to Panic.
(can you see how much fun I'm having with this game?)
Clearly I don't stand a chance against your superior musical knowledge for this game!
Evangelion was the first anime I bought on VHS tapes, way back when they were still horribly expensive and it took me forever to buy the whole series. I have a crapload of various Evangelion merch as well. I still use my Ayanami Rei fan a lot on hot days because it's the best fan ever :D
VHS tapes! I remember the days when dvds weren't around :) They did/do cost a lot! Everytime I walked by the comics shop it was a torture.... I spent many afternoons making eyes at all those pretty pretty things...
Yes, they were awesome! They're very good live and at one point they came up to play on a little stage in the crowd that was about 15 away from me.
The only thing that wasn't cool was that the amphitheater was outside and there were SO MANY MOSQUITOES. Like, flying into my face. It was very gross. >:[
I LOVE COVERS! I think you and Saba already mentioned so many awesome covers that I have nothing to add, but I'll be sure to check my itunes. I've heard the songs 1, 4, and 7 before and I really really liked them, so I'm excited to listen to all the rest too! I'm way too tired to listen to these tonight though, so I'll have to leave a more coherent comment tomorrow! :)
Now that I've listened to them all a few times I can also tell you that I love songs 8 and 11 and Keane's U2 cover. I really like Corinne Bailey Rae's voice and oh Jack Johnson, his voice is weirdly soothing in a playfully lazy way! And that In Your Eyes cover is still one of my favourite covers ever. Also, Across the Universe OST! ♥!
:DDD I'm glad you liked them! Jack Johnson! I'd love to spend an afternoon swinging in a hammok with him while he sings silly songs tapping on a little bongo *dreams* Across the Universe is ♥
Those cover songs sound fantastic - totally grabbed the zip file! :D
Also, that game is awesome and you are amazing at it! Let me try:
The Beatles song Come Together was covered by Kris Allen (1) who also totally covered Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror (2) and then Michael Jackson's Beat It got covered by Fall Out Boy (3) - ta-da! Ahahaha, OMG I suck at this! D: Sorry!

Bleah, mosquitos. Why did they have to survive through the ages? Couldn't they disappear in place of the dodos?
