Answer me this. How is it possible to enjoy RPing as an anthropomorphic dragon (on multiple online venues) and yet feel so...alone in the middle of a furry convention ( Read more... )

Sounds like what you may enjoy is Comicon. But you might want to study the list of activities there to decide.

I gather that you like ACEN very much. Since that is oriented more towards Anime, that and your joy in the character development session, suggests you are more interested in story than things related to 'furry'.

The largest of the Comicon's is held in San Diego each year. I attended my first this last July. This is the grandaddy of Comicons. People kept telling me it was huge. But I failed to comprehend how HUGE it is until I was there.

No one ever believes me when I say that Comic Con is huge unless they go. And I'm stunned every time myself. I mean, 2005 was my third year but its still a shocker.

Anime kiddies, pirates, renfaire lovers, Klingons, punks, cross dressers, porn stars and more.

All of down town San Diego is on lock down it is literally TAKEN OVER by this convention (you can tell by the prices. One day parking will be $5-10. Next day $20-30 per day!)

But yeah, I gotta say if you're like me in a ways... and the way I look at it Arcy - you are.

Comic Con would be your place. Big ol' pot of geek jumbo. And its addicting, hectic and wonderful... but I do say again it is hectic!

ComicCon is INSANELY huge!! So big, in fact, I have no idea what's going on, what to do, or where to go. This year I need someone with experience with the con to drag me around onna leash. =P

*hugs Arc*

I still regret not properly spending any time with you. c.c
