Self-Indulgence

All right, as I noted to arifyn a while back, I don't feel quite right talking to people about things that they don't seem to want to know, but I feel like blowing off some steam. All right, so maybe I don't have much steam now that it's taken me three days to get a chance to type this entry. Nonetheless, it ought to be good writing practice. All of this ( Read more... )

I laughed when I saw that you had termed me 'eloquent'. Really, I think I'm a bit of a windbag, but I greatly appreciate the surprise compliment ( ... )

I first came here in Spring of 2003, so I did have a brief stint in Cary with the bats flying around above and stuff. True, I don't remember having any complaints back then, other than that I didn't particularly like Fullmetal Panic.

I haven't really thought about real concepts of writing stories. It's a rather intuitive process for me, I suppose: I just think of ideas and see how they work together. A lot of it is character-driven.

Unfortunately, I didn't see this comment until I had already arrived at school today, so I'll have to try to remember to bring the comics on Wednesday.

チャンプル? archlords April 4 2005, 13:51:39 UTC

It's really difficult for me to generalize about the attendance at PAC. I try not to eavesdrop because I find it demeaning, so the only people whose opinions I hear much are the really loud guys up front. Well, other than the fact that people laugh at all sorts of things, of course.

Yeah, Champloo isn't really about tense battles (although by this point there has been one opponent who was actually more skilled than Jin and Mugen—and, interestingly enough, she was also the only female semi-villain I've seen so far. One of the two female characters who actually fight, too.), it's about style and gags, in my opinion. That's fine by me though. I like badassness. Still, I do tend to prefer the shows that also have badass villains.

Is 「チャンプル」 related to "CHAMPLOO"? I never did have any idea what it meant, but I suppose I was thinking of it as somewhat similar to the word "Bebop." Just the atmosphere, I guess.
