random thought

for some reason i was thinking about the trick-or-treat situation here. more specifically last year vs. this year.

this is the first place i've lived that's done it and while i didn't hand out anything, it was interesting to observe stuff.

Leaving the porch light on was the traditional sign of giving out candy, and you'd turn it off when you ran out, but you're right about the "dusk to dawn" automatic lights making that not work. My gramma that lived in town was on a popular street for trick-or-treaters back in the day, but hated dealing with it. She'd buy stuff, turn on the light, and then leave me and any of the other older grandkids who happened to be around in charge of giving stuff out ( ... )

now that you mention the inflatable sumo suit, there may have been one last year.

i think the inflatable dino suits have clear spot to see out of, but it still seems awkward to walk around in.
