Author's Notes
The origins of this fanfiction date back at least a year, to when the last episodes of the series were airing. I was tossing around scenarios that could lead to post-series Neil/Tieria in my head without any intention of ever writing them down. Then, shortly after the series did end, I decided that I would start writing them down after all.
This is a first for me--besides being the longest thing I've ever written by far, it's also really the first time I wrote down my self-indulgent AU shipper's fantasies and shared them. That's why I'm not too worried about quality, although I certainly hope other people have enjoyed it and will continue to do so. It wasn't meant to be anything meaningful. It was just meant to be the chance that Lockon and Tieria never got in canon. Since Lockon is my favorite character by a long shot, it eventually became "the chance that Lockon never got in canon."
So I wrote Good End Lockon/Tieria, which is about as shameless and self-indulgent as you can get. In fairness, I may at some point endeavor to write Good End Lyle/Anew, although it will be a lot shorter.
On to the specific ways this fanfiction is alternate universe. When I started it, the only thing I intended to be AU was Lockon's survival and the existence of the moonbase. Since then, lots of little things have cropped up in post-series interviews and other official and semi-official materials. So here's a list of things that I am well aware are different from canon:
♦ Neil being alive.
♦ The existence of the lunar complex.
♦ Regene being in Veda.
♦ Tieria not going into sleep mode, but instead continuing to investigate Veda.
♦ Anything that conflicts with the movie.
