So today I took my deposit in on a nifty two-bedroom apartment that I've managed to pick up for a tidy $526 a month. It's in a tiny little complex that seems to be really well run, and it's in a decent part of town and all that. Oh, and uniquely among 2BR apartments I've seen, it has one and a half baths, which is cool, but a bit weird

This seems like a good choice then, particularly if you can find a roommate at some point down the road, as I would surmise you can.

I've seen some 2BR places with one and a half baths, but those are usually multilevel: Bedrooms and full bath upstairs, half bath, kitchen, living room downstairs. The Quad at Baylor was one of those, them being school-owned dormish apartments though, and holding two people to each bedroom.

Fifteen minutes is happy commute range. I'll be right about there in the new place, preliminary calculations are at sixteen-eighteen CDCCDCO [*1] depending on traffic.
